An Afghan For Sophia S.

This post is a bit different because the owner of the afghan hasn't quite made it to her home, or her family yet. However, her afghan is firmly in place, waiting for her arrival!

The Sanchez family of Three's A Charm is waiting for their newest member, Sophia to be home in their arms.

Mr. Sheridan's mom, Lisa, organized an afghan to welcome Sophia home. Each family decided on a color for the afghan and I made the afghan in individual squares and then stitched them together to form an afghan!

And here is Sophia's mom opening the afghan:

You can visit this post on Sophia's blog and read why each family chose the color they did for her afghan!

Having gone through an adoption (and a half), we chose silver, because each cloud has a silver lining. Waiting for your child is hard, but having your child with you is worth the wait!

I can't wait to post pictures of Sophia and her afghan and am HONORED to be a part of this family's wonderful journey...through the creation of an afghan!

You did a great job, once again, on a very meaningful afghan. I love how John Michael's "white" binds all the colors together. We are such a close-knit family and the colors and their meanings are so special to us.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for pulling this off! It's so perfect for her - and means so much to everyone. You rock, sister!

An Afghan Of Their Own Fund

This fund has been created through The T21 Traveling Afghan Project in order to provide afghans for children with Down syndrome who are ill or facing other challenges.

This money goes towards purchasing yarn and covering the shipping costs of the afghan. You may make a donation towards a specific child or donate to the fund in general.

When you donate, the child will be sent a card with your name on it and you will be informed as to which child your donation provided an afghan to.

If you are interesting in donating to An Afghan Of Their Own Fund, please contact me at chandosjoy@gmail.com
